"The Tables Of Memory"
On October 28,2005 in the National Library of Belarus took place a presentation of a three-volume edition "The Tables Of Memory: From the literature heritage of Belarusian writers who had perished in the years of the World War II" (2005, founded by Ales' Bel'ski, doctor of philology, professor, laureate of I.Melezh Literature Prize).

    The three-volume edition "The Tables Of Memory" where, for the first time, are presented works of 46 Belarusian writers and journalists who had perished in the years of the World War II, is undoubtedly of a great social and cultural value. Being used in libraries, educational and cultural institutions of Belarus and other countries, this book will make society, and first of all the young generation, pay attention to human destinies of talented people, who had perished at fronts, in siege Leningrad, ghettos, concentration camps, torture chambers of SS and SD.

    This book is a unique cultural and historical heritage, which touches the humans' hearts. It applies to memory and conscience of the modern society, which searches for the answers to the questions of history and longs for the union on the basis of general human values.

    The edition is devoted to the 60th anniversary of the Victory over fascism and the 60th anniversary of the end of the World War II.

    In the presentation participated representatives of the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Belarus, State committee for archives and record management of the Republic of Belarus, State committee for religious and national affairs under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian republic fund "Mutual understanding and reconciliation", National Library of Belarus, National historical archive, Belarusian state archive - museum of art and literature, State museum of the history of Belarusian literature, Institute of literature under National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and also eminent scientists, writers, archivists, relatives of writers who had perished in the years of the war, authors of memoirs, translations, and articles included into the edition, and young writers.
