Since November 17 till December 3, 2005, in the National Library's Center of documents of international organizations is open a subject book exhibition "Little Palms full of Hopes", devoted to the Universal Children's Day. At the exhibition are presented more than 100 documents of international organizations (UN, UNESСO, EU, Council of Europe etc.) in Russian, Belarusian and English: books, periodicals, mimeographed materials of UN (mastheads), brochures, booklets and posters.

The UN General Assembly proposed to governments to celebrate it in any day that they consider appropriate. November 20 is a day when, in 1959, the Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, and in the year 1989 - the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
