From 7 to 8 July 2006 in the National Library of Belarus took place the
XXIII-th sitting of Intergovernmental council for cooperation of building
organizations of member countries of the CIS. In the sitting participated
directors and delegations of building organizations and the CIS Executive committee.
For the fourth time, directors of building management institutions of member countries of the CIS met in the capital of Belarus on purpose to improve scientific, technical, and economic building policy (the first sitting took place in Minsk in December 1994).
During the sitting were developed legal, normative and methodological documents, and adopted a number of agreements, that open new possibilities for Belarusian building industries, such as: establishment of new business connections, extension of export of production and services, and development of marketing outlets.
Intergovernmental council examined a number of current problems: providing of the CIS citizens with affordable and comfortable accommodation, development of building industry, application of modern engineering systems in dwelling and public buildings etc.
Delegations acquainted with the practice of state management and achievements of Belarusian building organizations, visited the biggest new buildings and buildings under reconstruction. Furthermore, all participants of the setting took part in a tour of the Library's new building guided by the NLB's director Roman Motulski, and wrote their entries to a visitor book.
