National Library of Belarus, on the occasion of its 85th anniversary, received plenty of congratulations, telegrams, and postcards. Alexander Lukashenko, the President of the Republic of Belarus sent a letter of congratulation to workers of the NLB. The President said: "National Library of Belarus is an enormous source of information which is being constantly enriched, a symbol of the creative forth and intellect of Belarusian people. The Library's building is a real decoration and symbol of our capital and visiting card of our country".

The Library as well received plenty of telegrams from the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to the Republic of Belarus, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Belarus, The Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Nicolay Nekrasov Central Universal Scientific Library, National Library of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, National Library of Uzbekistan, National Library of Ukraine, the Union of Writers of Belarus, Minsk office of Belarusian Trade Industrial Chamber, Belarusian State Agricultural Technological University, as well as the Republican Library for Science and Technology, Belarusian Agricultural Library, Gomel District Library, the Library of Frantsisk Skaryna Gomel State University, Gorodok Central Library of Vitebsk district, and Osipovichy gymnasium.
During the event National Library of Belarus was rewarded with diplomas on behalf of National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus ("For remarkable achievements in the field of social policy of the Republic of Belarus and the significant contribution to the development of librarianship", the Administration of Pervomajsky district ("For safekeeping of cultural heritage of Belarus and the significant contribution to the development of spiritual treasures of dwellers of the district in view of the 85th anniversary the Library", and the Presidium of Minsk City Committee of Cultural Workers Trade Union "For the significant contribution to the development of librarianship, support of the trade union movement, and on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Library".

Belarusian newspapers "Belarusky Chas", "Kultura", "Respublika," and others tell not only about the celebration of the National Library of Belarus' anniversary, but also about the workers of the NLB, those who dedicated the whole their lives to the Library.
