The Library building has the following functional
areas: a reading zone, a depository of stocks, production and
administrative as well as household zones. According to access
model the building is shared on the "to control" and
"after control" areas.
The following premises come into the reading area of "to
control":
- vestibule with cloak-room of 2000 places and the sanitary and domestic premises complex to vestibule group including rooms for disabled persons;
conference hall;
- cafe;
- museum of book;
- museum of the Library.
The reading area of "after control" includes:
- Reference-Information Department;
- Service Department;
- Manuscripts, Old-Printed and Rare Editions Department;
- Belarusian Literature Department;
- Fine Arts and Cartography Department;
- Music Editions, Sound Recording and Video- and Photo-Documents Department.
There are security premises, cloak-room of the Library staff's outer-clothes, check-room, personnel department in the production area of "to control".
The production area of "after control" consists of:
- Acquisition Department;
- Documents Processing and Catalogues Organization Department;
- Documents Indexing Department;
- Change and Spare Stocks Department;
- Department of Book-Keeping with the Main Stock Book-Depository;
- Department of the National Culture and Bibliography;
- Library Science Department;
- Advertisement and Public Relations Department;
- Editorial and Publishing Department;
- Restoration and Preservation Department;
- Printing Department;
- Automation of the Library Process Department.
